![]() ![]() If Microsoft wants to sell Flight Simulator software then their OS department needs to ensure that the hardware/controllers can function within the software environment. There are two parts that trouble me: a) Windows disengaged my third-party firewall and enabled its own firewall, and b) the X52 has been working on Windows for months on the same USB port (then it started needing restarts and driver re-installs, no nothing). Thankfully that card works fine in my new 10700k build running Win10 Pro, using the latest logitech supplied X52 Pro drivers. I ended up buying a pci-e adapter card which sports a USB EHCI chipset years ago, which solved that incompatibility problem. BUT.years ago I found that its USB chipset, at least in the one I own, is incompatible with USB XHCI.period! Even though XHCI "supports" USB 2.0, plugging my X52 into such a XHCI port always hung my computer. Just finished a MSFS flight around Kenai Fjords in Alaska and everything about my 'stick worked perfectly. The profile for FSX can be downloaded here.No problems here with my 2006 vintage Saitek X52 Pro in Windows 10. The West click will clear the profile from your controller. The East click will activate the profile displayed on the MFD. Use the North and South clicks to scroll the profile list displayed on your MFD. You will notice that the HAT Switch LED will begin to flash. Might not be able to get gaming software for the one I have. I wired the spring tighter to make the joystick easier to move in all directions. In order to change profiles, press and hold the Clutch Button. After a while the spring on the joystick gets tough to move sideways and forward and backward. You can change profiles without having to close your simulator. This is useful if you have made two separate profiles for different aircraft. The Clutch Button lets you alter profiles on the fly. Amazon is currently offering the Logitech X52 Pro Flight Control System for 171.99 shipped. You should also see a button on the throttle labeled I - this is the Clutch Button. You can set even more modes in the programming software itself. With the ST, you can set a minimum of three different button configurations to your controller at one time. One Mode equals one configured set of buttons. You can save these assignments as a profile, which can be tweaked as your flight experience increases. (The modes apply to the programming software (ST) that comes with the controller.) The software allows you to assign the keyboard commands from your simulator to the buttons on the X52 Professional H.O.T.A.S. You may also notice a silver knob on the stick, that when turned alters the color of the MODE LED and the Mode number on the MFD. Press the MFD-SELECT control to highlight the information then move the scroll wheel to alter the altitude data, for example. Scrolling the MFD-SELECT wheel up and down will scroll through the sectors that can be altered. Use the PG UP and PG DOWN wheel below the screen to scroll through the Radio Stack functions. Load up a flight, and the Radio Stack data will be displayed on the MFD. This is used to view information about your button configurations, and it also allows for direct manipulation of the Radio Stack information in FSX. possesses a Multi-Function Display (MFD). These controls have no set function, but they can be assigned in your Flight Sim to additional axes such as Elevator Trim or Flaps. These are positioned conveniently so that your thumb and index finger can operate them. It seems like its a common problem, but following the dozen or so solutions out there has brought be no closer to solving the problem. In addition to the standard Aileron, Elevator, Rudder and Throttle controls, you also have three additional axes to use on the throttle controller: two silver ridged rotary wheels, and the precision slide. Its not a case of (not only) Flight Simulator not seeing the X52, Windows itself doesnt recognise it (any more). You can test your buttons and axes here, and adjust the time readout and LED brightness and color. Go to Control Panel > Game Controllers and select the Properties for your X52 Professional H.O.T.A.S. Once installed, you’ll see a Saitek icon in your taskbar, next to the clock.īefore you start up your flight simulator for the first time, you should acquaint yourself with some of the controls and features of the X52 Professional H.O.T.A.S. We recommend that you install the latest driver and SmartTechnology (ST) programming software from our website. Plug the USB cable from the Throttle into the PC.Connect the stick to the throttle with the PS/2 cable. There should be six in the head of the plug. Make sure the pins are straight and all ok. Check the PS/2 Cable that comes with the controller. Before you install, make sure that you have everything connected correctly: ![]()
